FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Lady Razorback Catherine White won the 5,000 meters at the USA Junior Championships in Columbus, Ohio, Saturday night.
White, just a freshman, won the race on the final 200 meters with an incredible kick. She took the tape in a time of 16:32.03. She topped 16 other runners, 10 other collegians, including the pack of four she ran with for most of the race.
With her win, she has earned a spot on Team USA at the World Junior Championships in Poland next month.
Shelise Williams competed in the 400 meters and secured a spot in Sunday’s finals. Williams, also a freshman at UA, clocked a prelim time of 54.06. She finished third of the 20 competitors.
