(St. Paul, MN – 6/23/2008)–– “Best of the US” Management and Turkey Toe Tri Events invite the triathletes of the Land of Midnight Sun to race at the 5th annual ALASKA STATE TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIP / BEST OF THE US ALASKA QUALIFIER, a great Olympic distance race that will be staged in scenic Knik, AK on August 3.
Some of the talented triathletes we hope to see on August 3 include Jens Beck (8th male at the 2006 BOUS Championship), Fred West, Shannon Donley (7th female at the 2006 BOUS Champs), Lori Deschamps (8th female at the 2007 BOUS Championship), Andy Duenow, Jenny Kimball, Jason Lamoreaux, Jason Potsander (2005 AK BOUS Representative), Kristi Waythomsa, Brett Rosane, and Will Ross (2007 AK BOUS Representative. “Beck, Donley and Deschamps have already proven that they are world class amateur athletes,” noted BOUS PR Director Jerry MacNeil, adding “Beck and Donley won the Fastest State Team Award at the 2006 Best of the US Championship and would certainly be among the team favorites again if they, or the combination of Beck and Deschamps, were to advance.”
The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Alaska at the “Best of the US National Championship” on October 26 at Tempe Towne Lake in Tempe, AZ.
