Running: Run for One Planet co-founders, Matt Hill and Stephanie Tait are coming to your community, on their 11,000-mile run across Canada and the U.S.; determined to inspire environmental action

Run for One Planet has covered 2,574kms, raised $42,242 and inspired 844 new actions for earth

ONTARIO – July/August 2008 – Run for One Planet co-founders, actor Matt Hill and national speaker Stephanie Tait, will be running through your community on their 11,000-mile (17,700 kms) run across Canada and the U.S. for one year; determined to inspire environmental action. Run for One Planet will be running through Ontario, June 25th to August 22nd. Please contact www.runforoneplanet.com for arrival times in your community.

Matt and Stephanie have now covered 2,574kms, raised $42,242 and inspired 844 new actions for earth. During the course of their run, Matt and Stephanie have endured mudslides, a broken down RV, the freezing rain and tendonitis since their journey across Canada…and are loving every minute of it. Actor Matt Hill is a seven-time IRONMAN competitor and has worked with legends such as Jackie Chan in ‘Shanghai Nights’. He can also be heard as the voice in the animated series ‘Being Ian’ by YTV, ‘Ninja Turtles’ as Rafael, and ‘Ed, Edd, and Eddy’ by the Cartoon Network.

Stephanie Tait is recognized internationally as a national speaker and personal success coach. She has received numerous awards in honour of her outstanding achievements. Matt and Stephanie now share a new passion together, ‘Run for One Planet’.

Run for One Planets goal is for Matt and Stephanie to run one marathon each per running day, to inspire one million people to commit to one new environmentally friendly habit, and raise one million dollars. All funds raised will act as seed money to launch subsequent Run for One Planet green marathons in cities and towns across Canada and the U.S. Tait and Hill state, “It is our vision that the daily action of us running for one year will inspire others to take steps to help the environment; one person, one action, one step at a time.”

Run for One Planets 2008/2009 Canadian and U.S. tour, is being funded by generous, green, community-oriented businesses, groups, family and friends who believe in the vision of Run for One Planet. Local and national sponsors include ASICS, Planet Organic Markets, WatchMyRace, Home Depot, TELUS, Go-West RV Centre, Memorex, BC Hydro Power Smart, Carmanah Technologies Corp, Capers Whole Foods Market, Happy Planet foods and Eco Apparel Clothing.

Supporters and sponsors will be able to monitor Run for One Planets progress via a web viewing service provided by WatchMyRace for the length of the 2008/2009 tour. It will combine GPS tracking data and other information from the Run for One Planet campaign.
