(St. Paul, MN – 7/22008)–– “Best of the US” Management and HFP Racing invite the triathletes of the Buckeye State to race at the 1st annual VERMILION HARBOUR OLYMPIC TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US OHIO QUALIFIER, a great new intermediate distance race that will be staged in scenic Linwood Park in Vermilion on August 17.
The exceptionally talented married duo of Scott and Andrea Myers have represented Ohio at the first three editions of the Best of the US Championship. In 2005, Scott placed a surprising 6th; Andrea took 15. In ’06, Scott placed 10th, while Andrea finished 12. In 2007, the couple put together their best efforts yet, with Scott finishing a brilliant 2nd and Andrea taking 10th. Their combined result landed them in 4th in the Fastest Team Competition.
Some of the many other talented Ohio triathletes we hope to see on August 17 include Ryan Bates, Jeff Coudron, Mario Desiderio. Kiera Karas, Missy Kuck, Shannon Kurek, Matt Mangan, Matthew Perkins, Brian Stern, Ed Walker and Jared Woodford.
The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Ohio at the “Best of the US National Championship” on October 26 at Tempe Towne Lake in Tempe, AZ. Any male/female combination of the abovementioned athletes will give the Buckeye State of a formidable presence at the Championship.
