Yoga For The Stiff In You
TORONTO, Ontario - August 22, 2008 - It’s roughly two months away and yet many runners are at the peak of their training for this year’s Toronto Marathon – a Boston qualifier at that! They’re pounding the pavement up to 82 km a week in pursuit of better race times. Their obsession is like a drug. Many risk injury to shave minutes and seconds. Some will overdo it? Is there something missing? Something they can do to carry on?
Toronto-resident, Allen Groome is a 59 year old who has run over 50 marathons and is aiming to run his 60th within his 60th year. He is a road warrior of his generation, yet at a crossroads in his marathon career. He was experiencing new stiffness in his movements which was hampering performance. Luckily, however, Allen discovered a new approach that has led him and many like him to adjust his well versed training program for the better. Allen is now a “yoga for runners” enthusiast.
