Athletics: Twin Cities In Motion Hires Elizabeth Vincenty as Race Director

St. Paul, Minn.: March 16, 2016 - Twin Cities In Motion has named Elizabeth Vincenty as its new Race Director. Vincenty joins the Minneapolis/St.Paul nonprofit that organizes the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and a year-round array of running events with an extensive background in the running and event industry.

Vincenty will be tasked with leading the planning, organizing, and staging of all of Twin Cities In Motion’s races, ensuring they are accurate, safe, properly permitted, meet local and national requirements, and the operational needs of TCM’s customers.

Before joining Twin Cities In Motion, Vincenty worked as a project manager and registrar with the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge and Lakeshore Athletic Services. Previously she worked as an Account & Marketing Manager at SignMeUp, a provider of web-based software and services for event registration, membership management, and fundraising campaigns. She also worked as a Brand Manager for Fleet Feet Sports in Chicago and started her career working on the Chicago Marathon, excelling from intern to Information Technology Director for Chicago Event Management.

Vincenty, who earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Marketing and Management at Indiana University, returned to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as the Forward Command Manager in 2013, overseeing the 5,400-square-foot facility near the start/finish area where 24 teams, including federal and city entities, monitor the event’s operations, safety, and security.

"We’re pleased to welcome Elizabeth to our staff," Twin Cities In Motion Executive Director Virginia Brophy Achman said. "We’re excited to add someone with Elizabeth’s experience and talents to our organization. Her work in a wide range of running industry and event management positions will be a valuable asset to our organization."

Twin Cities In Motion promotes healthy lifestyles through running events and community outreach. The organization annually draws thousands of runners and fitness enthusiasts of all ages to Minneapolis and St. Paul for Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend. The organization hosts 21 race events throughout the year.

"I am excited to become a member of the Twin Cities In Motion team and proud to join an organization that has fostered an outstanding reputation throughout the industry and running community over the past 35 years," Vincenty said. "I look forward to continuing the tradition, and expanding the reach of the TCM mission."
