Athletics: Saucony® Ride 9 With Everun(TM) Now Available Worldwide

Next Generation of Award-Winning Neutral Trainer Is Out Of The Lab, Ready To Run

LEXINGTON, MA (May , 2016) - Maintaining its relentless commitment to elevating the running experience through performance innovation, Saucony today announces that the Ride 9, now featuring the brand’s EVERUN((TM) continuous cushioning technology, is out of the lab and ready to run. Now available to runners everywhere, the new Ride 9 gives runners the smoothest, most responsive ride yet, making every mile feel as effortless as the first.

"Finding new ways to expand the boundaries of what is possible in runner-inspired innovation continues to be the singular purpose of our product team," said Tom Hartge, senior vice president of global footwear for Saucony. "Our goal with the all-new Ride 9 was to build race shoe performance into a neutral training shoe, delivering a signature running experience with more energy return than ever before. The Ride 9 is equipped with EVERUN for the first time, joining our ever-growing line-up of performance footwear designed with Saucony’s Topsole construction process. We can’t wait for runners everywhere to see how good our newly-designed Ride feels, as they enjoy continuous cushioning no matter how long the run."

Saucony Ride 9

The new Ride 9, weighing in at just 9.3 ounces (men’s size 9), now features Saucony’s EVERUN patent-pending Topsole construction for enhanced energy return and continuous cushioning throughout the run. EVERUN Topsole construction positions a 3mm layer of Saucony’s revolutionary EVERUN foam material closer to the foot, directly under the sockliner, instead of embedding it in the midsole below a layer of rigid cement. This construction process distributes propulsion force over more area, reducing local peak pressures while delivering a dramatically more lively and responsive ride. A reengineered SRC LandingZone in the heel further absorbs impact and extends into the midfoot for improved transition.

The Ride 9’s FlexFilm((TM) technology, a lightweight, highly dynamic flexible film in the shoe’s distinctive upper, creates a seamless feel while a highly breathable open air mesh keeps feet cool and comfortable. Reflective details along the shoe’s upper provide visibility in low light conditions. The collar of the Ride 9 features a RunDry((TM) lining for superior moisture wicking properties.

Further helping to reduce weight is the Ride 8’s IBR+(TM) outsole, an injection-blown rubber compound that is 33 percent lighter than traditional blown rubber. A new TRI-FLEX outsole design delivers more ground contact and optimal flexibility at toe-off.

The shoe’s 8mm heel-to-toe offset positions the foot during impact in a way that creates a greater range of motion for the Gastrocnemius-Soleus-Achilles tendon system, allowing for a more powerful running stride.

The Ride 9 is now available at select specialty run retailers in men’s sizes 7-13, 14 and 15, and women’s sizes 5-12, and is available in width options. The suggested retail price of the Ride 9 is $120.00. To find a retailer near you, call 800-365-4933 or visit Saucony.com.
