Part of the nationwide 52-race USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series, the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, located at 3225 Broadmoor Valley Road in Colorado Springs. Athletes ages 7-10 will complete a 100-meter pool swim, followed by a 1-kilometer run on a closed path around the lake. Athletes ages 11-15 will race on a 200m swim and 2k run course. Visit COSSSplashandDash.com for complete event information.

The cost to participate is $20, which includes a USA Triathlon annual membership. Learn more about member benefits here. Online registration ends on Aug. 18 at midnight MT, and on-site registrations (cash or check only) will be accepted on race morning between 7-8:15 a.m.

Event partners include the USA Triathlon Foundation, Country Club at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, Boy Scouts of America, USA Swimming Foundation and SafeSplash Swim School.

Educating youth athletes between the ages 7-15 about the multisport lifestyle is one of the primary objectives of the USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series, which is focused on participation and having fun, rather than competition.
