JOPLIN, Mo. – Arkansas Razorback women’s track and field competed at the Missouri Southern Invitational Friday and Saturday. The Cardinal and White picked up four event wins during the two-day event.
Senior Peter-Gaye Beckford finished second in the long jump with a mark of 20-0.25. Her jump is an NCAA provisional-qualifying mark and ranks first among SEC competitors and sixth nationally. She also finished first in the triple jump (38-6.75 and third in the shot put (43-5.75). Her toss in the shot put is a new PR.
Freshman Whitney Jones continued competition with a third-place finish in the long jump (19-8.25), a second-place finish in the triple jump (37-10.75) and a win in the 60 meters (7.67p/7.58f). Her long jump and 60-meter time were personal bests.
Arkansas also picked up events wins from senior Lauren Lewis (800 meters, 2:19.39), Shelise Williams (600Y, 1:23.93) and the 4x400-meter relay (Kelly Long, Courtenay Blair, Lewis, Janine Davis, 4:00.44).
