Wardian wins second USA 50 km title
Michael Wardian (Arlington, Va.), won his second consecutive USA 50 km championships on Sunday, running 2 hours 56 minutes 36 seconds at the Caumsett State Park 50K in Huntington N.Y.
Kami Semick (Bend, Ore.) won both the overall and masters women's titles in 3:29:20, while Dan Verington (Bradford, Mass.) won his second straight masters title in 3:25:22.
This year's event was hosted by USATF Long Island and was held for the fourth consecutive year in Caumsett State Historic Park, the fourth largest of Long Island's 25 state parks. The park boasts 1,500 acres and is located 35 miles from New York City. The USA 50 km Championship will be held at Caumsett for the next three years.

All-time record for entrants at USA Masters Indoor Champs set
With twenty days still to go before registration closes, an All-time record has been set for number of entries with 850 athletes entered in the 2009 USA Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships. The previous record of 849 entries was set in Boston in 2000.
The 2009 USA Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held March 20-22 at the Wayne K. Curry Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Maryland.
