Brand’s franchise cushioning shoe judged “A sweet ride for neutral runners”
LEXINGTON, MA (March 6, 2009) – Saucony, Inc., a leading global supplier of performance athletic footwear and apparel, today announced that the Saucony ProGrid™ Triumph 6 was awarded “Editor’s Choice” by Women’s Adventure magazine in the publication’s annual Spring Product Guide. Over 1,000 pieces of footwear, apparel and outdoor equipment were tested with the Triumph 6 singled out as editor’s pick.
“The Triumph is a sweet ride for neutral runners,” said the Women’s Adventure editors. “Comfortable, energetic, and lightweight, it neatly absorbs the impact of concrete and pavement. Arch-Lock® provides exceptional fit through the midfoot, and heel-strikers will benefit from the SRC Impact Zone™, a patented technology that takes road shock and transfers it to forward motion,” they added.
“The whole Saucony team is extremely proud that Women’s Adventure has recognized the Triumph 6 as editor’s pick,” said Patrick O’Malley, vice president of global product for Saucony. “We continue to focus on innovation, style and performance to push the limits of our products, and we’re excited that the new Triumph’s ride, now even more plush and responsive, was appreciated by the editors and all the gear testers,” he added.
Though the previous rendition of the Triumph (ProGrid Triumph 5) was awarded with the coveted Outside Buyer’s Guide “Gear of the Year” honor in 2008, the Saucony designers didn’t sit on their laurels when they created the new ProGrid Triumph 6. The shoe’s full-length ProGrid was increased and combined with SSL EVA for improved response, greater cushioning and enhanced shock absorption. The ultra-plush Comfortride™ sockliner is constructed from an exclusive material to offer both wicking and antimicrobial properties, while providing responsive cushioning and additional comfort. (Sizes: men’s 7-13, 14 and 15, and women’s 5-12; MSRP: $125.00)
The ProGrid Triumph 6 was also recently named “Best Shoe in Neutral Category” by Running Network in their Spring 2009 Shoe Review.
