Triathlon: "Best Of The US" Invites Michigan's Elite To Race At The Motorcity Triathlon On June 14

(St. Paul, MN -- 4/4/2009) -- "Best of the US" Management and 3-Disciplines Racing invite the triathletes of the Great Lakes State to race at the 4th annual MOTORCITY TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US MICHIGAN QUALIFIER, a popular Olympic distance race consisting that will be contested on June 14 in the shadow of Detroit's skyline on Belle Isle in the Detroit River.

Michigan has no shortage of tri talent. Some of the elite male triathletes we hope to see on June 14 include Aaron Bachman, Adam Brown, Pete Bolen, Joe Deighan, Eric Fernando, Brian Fransis, Jeff Haney, Tom Linck, Gary Gurgold, Gavin Nunns, Timothy Polonsky, John Severin, Matt Smith, Benjamin Steavins, Jay Steele, Richard Swor, Matt Wehrman. Matthew West (2006 and 2008 MI BOUS Representative) and Jody Williford. Top Michigan women we hope to see include Kissandrea Berens, Kattie Carpenter-Rosa, Renee Damstra, Sarah Demerly (2008 MI BOUS Representative), Amy Gluck, Sarah Grunner, Peggy Hasse, Beth Homan, Megan James, Kristi Judd, Cheryl Klotkowski, Kerry Pawliewski, Amy Peters, Anne Marie Phillips, Amy Rummel and 50+ phenom / 2006 USAT Master of the Year, and Karen McKeachie. "Swor is a special talent," notes BOUS Co-Director Jerry MacNeil. "He was 6th overall at USAT Age Group last year and has won at least one major race--iami International--lready this season. We'd love to see him in Mission Viejo. We're also very impressed with Renee Damstra, who with Swor, would have a legitimate shot at a podium (top 3) spot in the Best of the US Fastest State Team Competition."

The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Michigan at the "Best of the US National Championship" on September 27 in Mission Viejo, California. Any combination of the abovementioned male and female triathletes--not just Swor and Damstra--would assure a formidable presence for Michigan at the Championship.
