The Arkansas Razorback women's track and field team picked up five regional qualifiers, an event win and an NCAA provisional mark splitting the weekend between the Texas Relays and the Florida Relays. Katie Stripling won the pole vault with a regional-qualifying height of 13-9.25. Her mark currently ranks tied for second nationally and second in the SEC. She led a 1-4-6 finish for Arkansas in the pole vault.
Shelise Williams clocked a personal best and regional qualifier in the 400 meters. Her time of 52.87 ranks third in the NCAA and third in the SEC.
Arkansas' 4x400-meter relayed improved its regional-qualifying time. The quartet of senior Courtenay Brown, sophomore Shelise Williams, freshman Whitney Jones and senior Janine Davis combined for a time of 3:39.56. The time currently ranks 12th nationally and third in the SEC.
At Texas Relays, Etienne Chaplin hit the NCAA provisional mark in the heptathlon. She scored 5,400 points to finish third. Her point total ranks fifth nationall and leads the SEC.
The Arkansas Razorback men's track and field team picked up two regional qualifiers and a relay title at the Texas Relays. The Hogs picked up their 11th-straight title win in the 4x1,500-meter relay. Senior Scott MacPherson (4:02), freshman Rick Elliott (3:58), senior Alex McClary (3:55) and sophomore Michael Chinchar (4:00) combined for a time of 15:57.97.
Freshman Tarik Batchelor finished second in the long jump with a regional-qualifying mark of 25-6.75. Bathcelor's mark ranks second in the NCAA and second in the SEC. He holds the best freshman long jump mark in the NCAA. Sophomore Luke Laird marked a regional-qualifying javelin toss of 205-11 to finish eighth.
