(Duluth, Minn.) Registration has opened for northern Minnesota's oldest road race -- the 38th annual Park Point 5-Miler & 2-Mile Walk. The event, Friday, July 17, begins with free youth races at 5:30 p.m., followed by the two-mile walk at 6:15 p.m. and the five-mile run at 6:30 p.m.
Entry forms can be downloaded at YoungAthletesFoundation.com or picked up at Austin-Jarrow, Anytime Fitness or other area sporting goods stores and fitness centers. The pre-registration fee is $20 for those signing up before July 17. Race-day registration for both the run and walk is available for $25 near the pavilion at the end of Park Point between 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The free youth races are for children ages 14 and under.
All finishers in the run and walk receive a commemorative T-shirt and awards are presented to the top finishers. Ribbons are awarded to youth race runners upon completion of their event.
