Athletics: Arkansas' Williams Makes History at NCAAs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Razorback sophomore Shelise Williams made Arkansas history in the 400 meters on day four of the NCAA Outdoor Championships at John McDonnell Field Saturday. The Razorbacks ended the four-day event with five All-America honors.

Williams finished seventh in one of the fastest 400-meter finals in NCAA history. She earned her first All-America honor in an individual event and her third career certificate.

Williams crossed the finish line in a time of 52.01. Her clocking is a season and personal best and ranks as the No. 3 time in Arkansas school history.

Arkansas finished 29th in the team race with 10 points. Texas A&M won the title with 50 points, Oregon was second with 43 points and Arizona State rounded out the top three with 41 points.
