Georgia's Best posting resounding victories at West Point Lake Olympic
ST. PAUL, MN / June 13, 2009: On a warm, drizzly Georgia morning, the Peach
State's best triathletes smoked their respective fields by 4+ minutes each.
For men, the smokin' was courtesy of Jason Schott (38,
Dahlonega), reigning USAT National Champion, with a 1:59:27 posting. For the
women, it was 24-year-old former collegiate swimmer Haley Chura of Smyrna
doing the honors, with her 2:18:38 performance.
Joining them on the Best of the U.S. podium were Samuel Morgan
(26, Atlanta) and Katherine Tindol (41, Suwanee) in second place and Dennis
Reardon (37, Canton) and Yvonne Bedell (33, Dunwoody) in third. Reardon was
Georgia's representative at last year's Best of the U.S. National
Championship. Georgia's David Silver won the Best of the U.S. National
Championship in 2006.
