2010 Early Sign-up Period Includes $10 Entry Fee Discount
(Duluth, Minn.) Registration for the 34th running of Grandma's Marathon begins Monday, July 13.
For the first time in its history, Grandma's Marathon is offering an early registration option that features a $10 discount off of the $85 entry fee. To receive the discount, runners should log onto GrandmasMarathon.com and register anytime between July 13, 2009 and September 7, 2009.
In addition to receiving a $10 discount and securing a spot in the 34th annual Grandma's Marathon, scheduled for June 19, 2010, each person who signs up during early registration will receive a package of coupons and discounts from area hotels and attractions.
"This is a great opportunity for marathon participants to not only take advantage of a discounted entry fee, but also to benefit from the many valuable offers provided by our community partners," said Scott Keenan, executive director of Grandma's Marathon.
After September 7, the entry fee will increase to $85 until the race reaches its 9,500-runner capacity. In past years, the sign-up period for the marathon opened in mid-January.
Registration procedures for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and the William A. Irvin 5K remain unaltered. The half marathon lottery sign-up period is set for February 17 -- March 1 and William A. Irvin 5K registration opens March 17. Registration for these races will also be conducted at GrandmasMarathon.com.
