LOS ANGELES, July 21, 2009 -- The Los Angeles City Council today unanimously approved returning the Los Angeles Marathon to a Sunday in March, a position it's held on the calendar for 23 of the last 24 years. The vote, 12-0, also ratified race organizers' --Stadium to the Sea route, which promises to highlight iconic sites across greater Los Angeles. After the vote, Marathon officials announced that next year's Los Angeles Marathon--its 25th Anniversary Race--will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Registration will open online on September 1st; route and other details will be released on the race's website--www.lamarathon.com--over the coming weeks.
