Athletics: Finish Line Extends 500 Festival Sponsorship with Multi-Year Agreement

Finish Line remains title sponsor of the Finish Line 500 Festival 5K

INDIANAPOLIS (July 29, 2009) -- The 500 Festival announced today Finish Line signed a multi-year agreement as title sponsor of the Finish Line 500 Festival 5K and associate sponsor of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. The 2010 Mini-Marathon and 5K take place on May 8, 2010. The Finish Line 500 Festival 5K race is designed for the whole family. The 5K participants receive many of the same perks as the Mini-Marathon participants.

"The 500 Festival and Finish Line have enjoyed an excellent relationship over many years. Finish Line has been a great partner of 500 Festival events and programs, in particular the 5K," said Kirk Hendrix, President and CEO, 500 Festival. "Finish Line is not only headquartered in Indianapolis, it is committed to this great city through the support it continues to make to the 500 Festival and other organizations."

Finish Line extended its sponsorship via its Corporate Social Responsibility Committee (CSRC). The CSRC has oversight of the company's attention to issues of social responsibility and the Company's policies, practices, and progress on social, employment, charitable, environmental, and other matters of significance to the Company's performance, business activities, or reputation as a good corporate citizen. This marks one of the first sponsorships by the CSRC since its inception earlier this year.

"At Finish Line, we recognize that our responsibilities go beyond serving the needs of our customers," said Gary Cohen, Finish Line's Chief Administrative Officer. "We also strive to embrace our role as a responsible corporate citizen within the communities we work and live, especially in our hometown of Indianapolis. To us, responsible corporate citizenship is not just an important business initiative; it is a statement of our values and a measure of our commitment to our communities."

The 5K has grown from 2,400 participants in 2000 to 4,000 in 2009. The early registration fee for the 2010 Finish Line 500 Festival 5K is $25 through November 30, 2009 or $30 from December 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Registration will close on the date the maximum field of 4,000 is reached. Each participant of the 5K will also receive a short sleeve performance technical shirt, included in the registration fee.

The mission of the 500 Festival is to produce events and programs that celebrate the success of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Indiana and their guests. These events and programs, produced largely by volunteers, enhance the image of our city and state by showcasing our cultural, educational and social benefits to the world.

The 500 Festival, a not-for-profit volunteer organization, was created in 1957 to organize civic events celebrating the greatest race in the world. Over the past 53 years, the 500 Festival has grown to become one of the largest festivals in the nation.

Last year, over 500,000 Hoosiers and visitors participated in nearly 50 events and programs throughout the month of May. Whether they were athletes running the Mini, fourth grade students participating in the Education Program, families enjoying the state's largest festival for kids or spectators being dazzled by one of the nation's premier parades, they were there, celebrating the legacy.
