"Triathletes are always looking for new challenges and new situations and first of all they need to discover new race sites and to try out new experiences."
TriStar200 Andalucía is attracting more and more professional athletes. The latest addition to the PRO starting list of the new long distance triathlon is Martina Dogana of Italy who looks forward to this opportunity of growing as an athlete and discovering new experiences.
"When I first saw the advertisement for TriStar200 Andalucía while I was in Nice, just a few days before the race I immediately thought: That's the race for me! Long bike, very short swimming, a great run on the beach... that would be my perfect training for Ironman Hawaii!" she says. Martina Dogana finished third in Nice in 9:37:35 and got one of the two tickets for the World Championship in Hawaii. Last year, Dogana won Ironman France in 9:35:29, and also qualified for Hawaii, where she finished in 9:50:47. "
"TriStar is a different way to compete and I'm sure it will help me to be stronger and more determined," the sympathetic Italian athlete says. Dogana is a swim trainer when not competing, and speaks five languages fluently. And she speaks the most international of all languages: the language of smiles: is one of the most optimistic and friendliest athletes you might meet in and outside of long distance races.
"We athletes have to believe in this new challenge that TriStar200 Andalucía represents, and in this opportunity to grow as a triathlete. Above all that, it is a way to enjoy our sport even more!" she motivates her fellow triathletes to participate in the brand new long distance triathlon event in Spain.
TriStar200 Andalucía connects the two provinces of Cadiz and Huelva, and it is the first race under the new TriStar brand. It is organized by Star Events and the Empresa Pública de Deporte Andaluz, with the initiative of the Regional Ministry for Tourism, Trade and Sports of the Regional Government of Andalusia. The first 300 participants receive a discounted rate. Athletes -- professional and amateurs -- will race for a total prize purse of 70.000 EUR. Entries are open for individual starters and relays on www.tristar200andalucia.cc.
