St. Paul, MN / August 18, 2009: An extraordinary head-to-head duel for the
Men's Best of the U.S. Championship took form Sunday when Chris Thomas (37,
Connecticut) won at Park City Mossman Triathlon.
Second to Vinnie Monseau (now 40, West Virginia) at the 2008 Best of the
U.S. Championship, Thomas is having a spectacular year -- including a win over
Monseau at St. Anthony's in April. And an amateur victory at Ironman 70.3
California. And at Revolution3 in June. And at Pat Griskus Olympic, Health
Nut, and Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island.
Monseau, meanwhile, qualified at last week's Spirit of Morgantown Triathlon
and has vowed to return and attempt to make history as both the first-ever
repeat Best of the U.S. Champion and as its first-ever Masters Champion.
Stay tuned.
Park City Mossman Triathlon is the 44th Best of the U.S. Qualifier Race for 2009.
