Athletics: The two fastest marathon runners go head to head in Berlin on September 20th

Haile Gebrselassie vs. Duncan Kibet -- the two fastest marathon runners of all time are going head to head at the 36th real,- BERLIN-MARATHON on September 20th. Haile Gebrselassie (36) from Ethiopia, world record holder since winning the Berlin race a year ago in a stunning time of 2:03:59 hrs, has won this marathon three times in a row and is aiming for another try on his own world record. His first world marathon record he clocked in Berlin in 2007 (2:04:26). The fast course is also attracting Kenyan top marathoner Duncan Kibet (31) to try for the record. No one ever came closer to Gebrselassie's record mark than Kibet. Winning the Rotterdam marathon last April his time was 2:04:27 hrs making him the second fastest marathoner ever.

40.923 runners are expected to line up for one of the biggest marathons in the world with one million spectators estimated along the course.
