Winner to receive a year of free Chicagoland racing
Chicago Athlete magazine, a Chicago-based Midwest regional sports publication, has launched their first-ever "Why Chicago Runs" contest. The contest asks participants to explain the reasons that they run. In addition to being an exciting look into the psychological roots of running as a sport and as a passion, the campaign seeks to engage runners with one another by allowing them to vote for their favorite response.
The contest will run through January 2010 with the top 12 responses being published in Chicago Athlete magazine's "Better Self" issue. From there, readers will be able to narrow the twelve top entries to just one overall winner. The runner with the most popular answer will receive paid entry to a year's worth of events.
The comp race package will include:
Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle - Chicago - March
Ravenswood Run 5K - Chicago - April
Wisconsin Marathon and Half Marathon - Kenosha, Wis. - May
Soldier Field 10 Mile - Chicago - May
Elvis is Alive 5K - Chicago - August
2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon - Chicago - October
Pumpkins in the Park - Chicago - October
