Athletics: USATF athletes ring closing bell at NASDAQ

NEW YORK - A trio of recent American track and field medalists on Friday presided over the NASDAQ closing bell, in New York's Times Square.

Three-time 20m world champion and two-time Olympic silver medalists Allyson Felix, 2009 world champion decathlete Trey Hardee, and 2009 World Championships pole vault silver medalist Chelsea Johnson were joined by 1948 Olympic long jump bronze medalist Herb Douglas, USATF Foundation Executive Director Tom Jackovic, USATF Foundation Board member Ashley Sutton, USATF staff members and NASDAQ executives. The NASDAQ closing bell is carried live daily by several national business television networks.

Activities at NASDAQ, where USATF Foundation chair Bob Greifeld serves as CEO, included a reception and a photo session in Times Square, where passers-by and fans joined in the photo-taking.
