COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- USA Triathlon (USAT) has partnered with ZumTri to provide members with a unique form of results through state-of-the-art interactive virtual race replays.
As the official supplier of virtual results for the USAT National Championships, ZumTri will provide race participants with the opportunity to watch a personalized post-race animation of themselves competing against the field on the race map. For athletes, ZumTri is a way to relive their race and share it with others. For race organizers, it's a way to promote their race and their sponsors by extending the race experience well beyond the physical footprint of the event.
"Zumtri has created a program that members will be excited to see for mapping where they are relative to their competition in USAT events," said Tim Yount, USA Triathlon's senior vice president of marketing & communications. "We feel fortunate they chose USAT to be one of their first clients and are looking forward to working with them on some additional enhancements to their programming."
As part of this partnership, ZumTri is the official supplier of virtual results for the USAT National Championship program through the end of 2010. ZumTri will offer race directors a 10% discount for USAT sanctioned races. Contact ZumTri for more information.
"USAT has been instrumental in bringing our new technology to the multisport community through the 2009 National Championship events," said ZumTri co-founder Mark Faga. "We look forward to working with them through 2010 and beyond."

ZumTri and the company's service for marathons, ZumRun, work by taking chip timing event results and estimating the participants' positions throughout the race course. The animation allows viewers to see athletes passing or being passed. A scoreboard appears at the top of the page displaying what place the athlete is in, compared to the overall field, his or her age group or against friends and rivals. Family and friends can see the race by simply logging on to the website, clicking on a race and selecting a competitor. In addition, charts and graphs break down the race for deeper analysis.
