Health and Fitness: P3R Sponsors 2016 Women’s Health Conversations in Pittsburgh

More than 1,000 set to attend the 3-day conference on Nov. 3-5 designed to educate, empower and entertain women about their health and lifestyle choices

PITTSBURGH - P3R, the nonprofit organizers of the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon and other endurance events, is sponsoring the 2016 Women’s Health Conversations, the first of its kind consumer conference designed to educate, empower and entertain smart, savvy women who influence the health of others. The 3-day conference, scheduled for Nov. 3-5, will bring top doctors and lifestyle experts, including U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Richard Carmona, to Pittsburgh to share their knowledge with more than 1,000 attendees.

"Women make more than 80% of the health care decisions in this country, not only for themselves, but for everyone they touch in their lives– their children, spouses, parents, friends, co-workers," said Dr. Vonda Wright, orthopedic surgeon and founder of women's health conversations. "It is women who impact individual health and therefore the nation’s health. By transforming health, women transform our culture and our economy."

P3R will be onsite at the conference in the Women’s Health Conversations Marketplace, where participants can learn more about P3R’s dynamic and versatile programming including the Steel City Road Runners and Kids of STEEL. On the final day of the conference, P3R CEO Patrice Matamoros will participate in a panel called "Can Sports Save Society?"

"P3R is proud to sponsor this wonderful opportunity that gives attendees access to leaders in health innovation and information," Matamoros said. "This conference will be a source of inspiration to hundreds of women with exciting and empowering ways to make healthy choices."
