Athletics: Registration Open for 37th Annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon

Early Opening First of Many Bold Changes for the 2018 Race on October 7

St. Paul, Minn. - December 12, 2017 - Registration is open for the 37th annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. The 26.2 mile race, which runs from downtown Minneapolis to the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul, takes place on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

.Registration for the marathon will be conducted online through the Twin Cities In Motion website, tcmevents.org/marathon. For a limited time, registration for the event is only $110.

"We’re opening the event now as the first step in taking the marathon in a bolder direction in 2018," Twin Cities In Motion Executive Director Virginia Brophy Achman said. "Runners locally and across the nation are committing to marathons earlier, and we want to be open and welcoming to them. We’re a top-notch event hosted by the fittest city in the country, so it’s essential to make sure we’re available when runners make their plans."

Registration for the Medtronic TC Family Events, TC 5K, presented by Fredrikson & Byron, and TC 10K, which take place at the State Capitol grounds on Saturday, October 6, as part of Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend, open on Thursday, February 15.

The registration drawing for the Medtronic TC 10 Mile on October 7 is open from Friday, July 6, to Monday, July 16, with the drawing itself taking place on Thursday, July 19.

More than 25,000 runners participate annually in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend. For more information about the event, visit the Twin Cities In Motion website, TCMEvents.org.
