Athletics: Marine Corps Marathon Lottery to Open March 24-30

Brooks 'MISSION FOCUS' apparel, runcoach training program, MarathonFoto & Carbo Dining In tickets available during lottery registration

QUANTICO, VA (March 17, 2016) - Runners across the globe are gearing up to register for the 41st Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) as the lottery for this year's event opens to the public at noon Eastern Thursday, March 24 at www.marinemarathon.com. The MCM Lottery will be conducted over seven days, through Wednesday, March 30, closing at noon Eastern.

Once the lottery closes, runners will be notified about their registration status via email starting March 31. Runners will not be charged any fees during the lottery until officially selected and registered for the 41st MCM.

A host of products is available during the Lottery, including a new line of MCM clothing by Brooks, the customized training program from runcoachR, MarathonFoto photo packages and tickets to the Carbo Dining In, the annual carbo-loading buffet that will be held at the MCM's new headquarters hotel, the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, located at the National Harbor.

The Brooks apparel is made of extremely comfortable moisture-transferring fabric with DriLayerR, a patented performance material that keeps the wearer dry and fresh. There are two styles of MISSION FOCUS and WITH PURPOSE T-shirts for purchase; a short sleeve and podium long sleeve, both with a reflective MCM logo. Sizes range from XXS to XL. As depicted, the colors are heather gray and navy blue.

In addition, Brooks is offering a breathable DriLayerR "WITH PURPOSE" unisex mesh training hat with reflective detail. The cap's technical fabric transfers moisture away from the head while the adjustable strap allows a customized fit.

Runners looking for a customized marathon training program also can purchase runcoachR, for just $20. The runcoach program allows runners to create a personalized plan, whether taking part in their first MCM or hoping to improve on their marathon finish time.

Also during MCM Lottery registration, MarathonFoto, a leader in sports photography, is offering a special photo package with registrants paying just $65, while earning a promo code that provides $100 of credit toward MarathonFoto products. The promo includes printed photographs, digital images, plaques and other MarathonFoto products.

In addition, tickets to the MCM's Carbo Dining In, the pre-event pasta celebration hosted the evening prior to the Marathon on Saturday, Oct. 29, will be available during lottery registration. Tickets are $50 per person and $20 for those under age five.

The 41st MCM will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30 in Arlington, VA and throughout the nation's capital, visit MarineMarathon.com for more information.

The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is voted the "Best Marathon in the Mid Atlantic" and "Best Marathon for Spectators." The MCM honors the dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism of its participants. Also known as "The People's Marathon," runners from all walks of life participate in the MCM, the largest marathon not to offer prize money. The 41st MCM will be held on October 30, 2016 in Arlington, VA. No federal or Marine Corps endorsement is implied. #RunWithTheMarines
