Athletics: Suja Juice Returns as Title Partner of Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon

Suja Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon & Half-Marathon weekend to take place June 3 - 5, 2016; Event to feature new courses for both marathon and half-marathon; new downtown finish line near County Administration Center; Gavin DeGraw to headline finish line concert at Waterfront Park for more than 30,000 runners

San Diego, CA - May 3, 2016 - San Diego-based Suja Juice Co., the fastest growing cold-pressured, organic, non-GMO beverage company in the U.S., is entering its third year as title partner of the 19th annual Suja Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon & Half-Marathon, which will take place the weekend of June 3-5, 2016.

More than 30,000 participants will enjoy various Suja Juice experiences over race weekend including a special Suja cheer group and band performance on the marathon course, and a finish line recovery center featuring yoga and stretching.

The 2016 event will feature a revamped marathon course. The 26.2-mile marathon course will take off from Balboa Park and travel through Hillcrest, North Park and Normal Heights before breaking off from the half marathon at mile 8. The route will also run through Mission Hills, Old Town and Mission Bay Park before finishing downtown at the County of San Diego’s new Waterfront Park.

In true Rock ‘n’ Roll fashion, live bands, enthusiastic cheerleaders and spectators will line the race route, concluding with a celebratory finish line festival and post race Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series headlined by Gavin DeGraw.

The 2016 race will once again feature a second day of running with the Suja Rock ‘n’ Roll 5K on Saturday, part of what’s dubbed the Remix Challenge. Runners who complete the 5K, plus the half marathon, marathon or half marathon relay on Sunday will receive a medal for each race, plus a special Remix Challenge medal.

Race weekend kicks off with a free Health & Fitness Expo, where runners can find the latest in running technologies, fitness apparel, health and nutrition information and interactive displays. The Expo takes place at the San Diego Convention Center on Friday, June 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Expo is free and open to the public.

The 19th annual Suja Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon & Half-Marathon to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will run through San Diego over the weekend of June 3 - 5.
