Athletics: 2016 BMW Dallas Marathon to stream live on WFAA.com; three-hour broadcast airs on WFAA-TV December 11

Follow all the action in 2016 BMW Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon, Behringer Relay and Pro Relay Challenge

DALLAS (December 8, 2016) - WFAA-TV, the Dallas-Fort Worth ABC affiliate, will air the 46th BMW Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon and Behringer Relay live on Sunday, December 11. The exclusive home of the BMW Dallas Marathon broadcast since 2005, WFAA’s live, high-definition coverage begins at 8 a.m. CST from the BMW Dallas Marathon start/finish line in downtown Dallas. Three hours of live race footage will also be streamed online at WFAA.com.

Viewers can tune in for race commentary and analysis, as well as feature coverage of the Pro Relay Challenge, which partners five professional and Olympic Trials qualifying runners with each of Dallas’ professional sports franchises in a competitive relay race. The race broadcast will include guest appearances by Rio 2016 Olympics Team USA runners Meb Keflezighi and Desi Linden, and viewers will enjoy highlights of this year’s race partnership with BMW, which brings more than 100 BMW cars to the 26.2-mile course, and watch the drama unfold as local athlete and 2015 Dallas Marathon champion Logan Sherman seeks back-to-back marathon victories.

Hosts Juli Henner-Benson and Todd Whitthorne anchor the BMW Dallas Marathon broadcast, with course analysts Mike Leslie, Sonia Azad and Ted Madden. WFAA meteorologist Colleen Coyle will be running in the BMW Dallas Half Marathon as part of the 2016 Last Woman Running promotion, raising money for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

In addition to the downtown start/finish line set, WFAA will use a multitude of cameras on race day to capture course footage, including specially built motorcycles, helicopters and more. For more information, visit BMWDallasMarathon.com or WFAA.com.
